Rosewood Tambour Door Cabinet
This Regency style cabinet was designed to hold a music sound system. The Tambour doors I’ve included in this design are for practicality as well as appearance. Doors that open out are always time-intensive to implement, however, I do enjoy incorporating this style of door as often as possible – they tend to make a piece elegant and interesting to use.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of emphasis on detailed craftsmanship that is a sad result of the need to produce more furniture in less time, features like these doors are not included much these days.
This cabinet is veneered to base and side panels, and the frame, tambours and pillars are all solid. East Indian Rosewood is the timber, and it is finished with French polish.
